The Arolla Pine Smoker works exactly like the vanilla Smoker. Only the look is different, so it blends into alpine kitchens.

Alpine Gneiss comes in five variants, each with stairs, slabs and walls. All of them can also be made in the Stonecutter.

Mossy variants are crafted with Moss or Vines. Use a snowball on them, or hit them with a thrown one, to make them frosty.

Arolla Pine wood comes from Arolla Pines, which grow naturally in Snowy Plains and Groves.

The set covers logs, wood, stripped variants, planks, stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates, doors, trapdoors, buttons and pressure plates.

Framed windows for alpine houses, available as a full block and as a pane.

You can sleep in it and set your spawn point as usual.

Villagers do not recognise it as a bed, because Minecraft only lets them claim vanilla beds.

Right click to sit down. Sofas placed side by side join into one long couch.

The cushions are soft: falling onto a sofa halves the fall damage and bounces you back up a little.

Right click the seat to sit down. The high backrest takes up two blocks, so leave some room above.

Tables placed next to each other connect into one long table.

Right click to open its 36 slots. Dressers placed side by side connect visually.

Use an armor piece on the Wardrobe to hang it inside.

Sneak and use it to take the stored pieces back out. Use it with an empty hand to open or close the doors.

Works like the Cabinet but is meant to hang above counters, keeping the floor free.

Place several Cooking Aisles next to each other to build one continuous counter. Each one also has storage inside.

The Bathtub is two blocks long. Right click the head end with an empty hand or a Water Bucket and it slowly fills up over about 45 seconds.

Once it is full you can sit in it. A bath washes off all harmful effects and slows you down while you are in the water. Zombies that fall in turn into Drowned, and Endermen get hurt.

An empty Bucket takes out half of the water, a Glass Bottle a quarter.

Right click to sit down. While seated you get a short Speed boost, but you also lose a little saturation.

Right click with food to drop it in, or toss items onto it. After 30 seconds each item comes out again as Bone Meal or, less often, as Rotten Flesh. Once there is something waiting inside, the privy gets smelly, with flies and buzzing.

Sneak and right click with an empty hand to take everything out. A comparator reads how full it is.

Frozen Dirt forms small patches in Snowy Plains and Groves. You can also craft it from Dirt and Snowballs.

When an Icicle hangs from Frozen Dirt, it can thaw back into regular Dirt. See Alpine Gneiss Growth.

Icicles generate in Snowy Plains and Groves, hanging from stone, gneiss, frozen dirt and Arolla Pine leaves. Eight of them can be crafted from one Blue Ice.

They can only be placed on the underside of a block and drop when that block is removed. Tiny snowflakes drift down from them.

Shear an Alpine Sheep to get Homespun Wool. It can be placed as a block or turned into Homespun Carpet.

Right click to shake the globe and set the snow swirling. Shaking it again makes the flurry stronger, then it slowly settles.

While the snow is swirling, the globe also gives off a redstone signal that fades as it settles.

Cornices placed next to or on top of each other connect and hide their inner edges.

Right click with a full block to give the cornice that block's look. Right click with a pickaxe to get the block back.

Place the wreath on a table or any other solid surface. Each of its four candles is lit separately by right clicking it with Flint and Steel or a Fire Charge. Burning arrows light a candle too.

Right click a candle with an empty Bucket to put it out. If the wreath gets waterlogged, all candles go out at once.

The more candles burn, the brighter it gets, up to full light with all four.

A purely decorative wreath. It hangs on walls or from the ceiling.

Fairy Lights hang on walls or from the ceiling and give off a warm light.

Garlands hang on walls or from the ceiling. Placed in a row they join up, including around inner and outer corners.

The Star Topper shines brightly and sends small sparkles up into the air. It is the finishing touch for a decorated tree.

Use Tree Baubles on any leaf block to decorate it. The leaves stay in place and the baubles give off a soft glow.

To take them down, use Shears or sneak and right click with an empty hand. You get the baubles back and the leaves remain.

The Winter Hat is worn in the helmet slot. It is mostly for looks and gives a single point of armor. It can be repaired with wool.

Bread on a Stick works like a Carrot on a Stick, but for Alpine Sheep.

Hold it while riding to steer the sheep. Use it for a short speed boost, which costs one point of durability. When it is used up, you are left with a Fishing Rod.

Called simply "Reindeer" in game. It is as filling as Mutton and can be cooked in a Furnace, Smoker or on a Campfire.

Eat it straight from your hand, or sneak while placing to put it down as a dish.

Once placed, right click it to eat. The dish lasts for four servings.

Snow Gentians grow in patches across Snowy Plains, often together with Christmas Roses. They can be potted and crafted into Blue Dye.

Hoarfrost Grass covers the ground in Snowy Plains and Groves. In cold places, fine snowflakes sometimes drift up from it during the day. Alpine Sheep like to graze on it.

Grows alongside regular Hoarfrost Grass and gives frozen meadows some height.

In Snowy Plains and Groves, snow collects in drifts of two to four layers, and more snow gathers under the trees. The ground looks uneven and natural instead of evenly dusted.

Arolla Pines replace the vanilla spruces in Snowy Plains and Groves. They grow in several sizes, and fallen trunks lie scattered between them.

Their saplings can be replanted, and their wood makes up the Arolla Pine building set.

Rock piles and boulders of Alpine Gneiss stick out of the snow in Snowy Plains and Groves.

In Groves, large veins of Alpine Gneiss also replace part of the stone underground.

Single Alpine Gneiss Slabs lie scattered across Snowy Plains and Groves, like flat stones peeking out of the snow.

Reindeer live in herds in taigas, Snowy Plains, Groves and Snowy Slopes.

Tame one like a donkey: keep climbing on until it accepts you. A tamed Reindeer needs no saddle, carries up to two riders and can be fitted with a chest.

Sweet Berries let calves grow faster and make tamed adults breed. Reindeer run faster on snow and slow down on ice. They avoid wolves and polar bears, but fight back when attacked.

Alpine Sheep live in the same cold biomes as Reindeer. They follow Wheat, breed with it and can be sheared for Homespun Wool.

Right click a grown sheep with an empty hand to climb on. To steer, hold Bread on a Stick, and use it for a short burst of speed.

They graze on grass, Hoarfrost Grass and even snow.

Do not feed them Bread. After a while the sheep gets upset and hurts itself.

The client config at config/alpinewhispers.client.json controls the snow fog.

In Groves, light snow drifts through the air even on clear days. The longer you stay, the more snow blows around, and now and then you hear an avalanche in the distance.

When it actually rains or snows, the effect pauses.

Wherever it is cold enough to snow, the view distance closes in. The fog is light at noon, thicker at dusk and at night, and thickest during snowfall and storms. Groves are always a little foggier.

The fog can be adjusted or turned off in the configuration.

Hang an Icicle from Frozen Dirt, leave one block of air beneath it and put Stone below that.

Over time the meltwater does its work: the Stone becomes Alpine Gneiss, the Frozen Dirt thaws into Dirt and the Icicle breaks.
